It’s Friday! I want to wish everyone a good weekend and thought it would be fun to share the latest version of Currently…
Planning – Our Master Bedroom Makeover. Every room in our house now has paint on the wall except for our master bedroom. I have not really spent any time decorating our room and randomly threw a few old frames up on the wall just to get them off the floor, and now it is finally time to put some thought and energy into our bedroom. Right now we are in the decluttering stage, my husband built a few closet shelves so that we could eliminate a dresser and make more room. The next step will be painting and then buying curtains. I’m hoping some blackout curtains will buy us a little extra sleep on the weekends!
Watching – I just finished up watching the finale of America’s Got Talent and it amazes me all of the people that are so talented. It is fun watching a show like AGT because it is just a positive show that keeps you entertained. And now that AGT is wrapped up next week a few of my other fall shows start to premiere such as Modern Family and This Is Us.
Baking – It is fall so of course I’m baking banana bread! Tate has been loving the banana bread but sometimes forgets what to call it. Yesterday, after finishing a slice of banana bread he asked, “can I have more monkey bread?”. Now I suppose if I decide to bake monkey bread this weekend I will have him all sorts of confused!
Drinking – Americanos. Ever since my Whole30 I mostly drink my coffee black, with the occasional treat of creamer or a latte. But at my office they have a coffee machine that has shots of espresso, so I do one shot of espresso and top the rest of my cup with hot water. It’s yummy! If you are a black coffee drinker I’d recommend giving an Americano a try, the espresso gives it more of a frothy, creamy taste.
Loving – My new iPhone Plus. I’ve had an iPhone 6 for three years and I cracked the screen in March but decided to wait until the September Apple launch to upgrade my phone. Even though I would love the iPhone X, I wasn’t ecstatic about the price. And there isn’t a huge difference between the iPhone 7 and the 8, so I decided to get last year’s iPhone 7 Plus which now dropped in price because of the new releases. I didn’t know if I would like such a huge screen, but so far I love it!
Hating – Sickness. My son has been home with Hand-Foot-and-Mouth this week and, even though he has been a trooper, it is never fun seeing sores on your kid’s mouth or hands. But on a positive note, my mom came to watch him so that we wouldn’t miss work and it was so nice getting more grandma time!
Anticipating – Our hometown festival is at the end of the month and I can’t wait to get back home to celebrate. It is an event that we look forward to every year! It is a time where my husband and I get to see old high school friends, eat greasy food from food stands, shop at the flea market, and watch the parade. I can’t wait!
Dreading – Finishing a DIY headboard project. I bought a headboard at a thrift store with the intentions that I would strip the varnish and stain off of it and then re-stain it a darker color. It sounded so easy in my head but it is proving a lot more tedious than I thought. Why is it that home projects take five times longer than you think? I am crossing my fingers I’ll finish up the stripping process this weekend. I’ll post it on the blog when I finish it up, well…that is if it even turns out!
Here is a sneak peek of the before…
Improving – The excess clutter in our house. I posted an 8-week declutter challenge and I’m slowly making my way through all areas of my house. It feels so good! Even if guests don’t see what is in certain closets, I know what is in them and it just kind of wears on me. Knowing that things are getting organized or hauled to the donation center really lifts weight off a person!
Thanks for [currently] reading, I hope you have a great weekend!
