Welcome to another Five on Friday where I share cool things I find online, products that I recommend, and just general happenings. I hope you enjoy! TGIF!
ONE
Favorite Kid Sport
Foot golf! We recently took the boys to a golf course that offered foot golf for kids and it was the best! It was a small 18-hole course where kids get a soccer ball and count the number of kicks it takes to get it in the hole. My boys were a little young to run and kick the entire course, so we rented a golf cart and let them ride for part of it. They had an absolute blast hopping out of the cart and kicking their soccer balls to the flag. If you have a foot golf course in your area I’d recommend trying it!

Favorite Beauty Products at the Lake
I just had another weekend at the lake and these two items were my go-to products (besides sunscreen, obviously). I used Burt’s Bees facial cleansing towelettes every evening and it worked great to get the sunscreen and any dirt off my face. Often times at the lake it gets too late and I get too lazy to wash my face, but by packing these face wipes it was easy to go to bed with a fresh feeling face without the hassle of soap, washcloth, and towel. I also got a lot of use out of my dry shampoo at the lake this year. I don’t always want to shower right away in the morning at the lake because I know I’ll be swimming later in the day. So in the morning I used the dry shampoo to revive my hair until it was time to go into the lake for a dip.
THREE
Favorite Dessert
Pinch of Yum is one of my favorite food blogs to follow. Recently Lindsey posted these S’more Bars that look absolutely amazing. I can’t get enough of s’mores in the summer, and I think that my husband finally caught on that my main motivation for having a campfire is the potential for eating s’mores. I’m looking forward to making these bars, I think they would be a yummy treat to bring along on a lake weekend.

Favorite Quote
This quote pretty much sums up life with little kids. I’m such a planner that I need to constantly remind myself to let go and accept the chaos. But I make sure to hold on tight to all the sweet moments, which makes the crazy moments a lot more tolerable!

Favorite Podcast Episode
I am fairly new to podcasts, but I’ve grown to really enjoy them. I like listening to a variety of topics, but my favorite podcast is The School of Greatness with Lewis Howes. I find the people he interviews to be very inspiring. My favorite episode is Episode 503, 7 Steps to a Bulletproof Life with Chris Lee. If you have an hour to spare I’d highly recommend checking out the episode. I loved when Chris talks about changing one word to help your energy and mood. He said instead of saying “I have to…” start saying “I’m blessed to”. I’ve been trying it the past few weeks, and it really does help my energy levels. When I think to myself “I have to wash the dishes, I have to give the kids a bath, or I have to go grocery shopping” it can feel so tiring and draining. So I remind myself “I’m blessed to wash the dishes because we had a great meal at the table as a family” or “I’m blessed to give the kids a bath because they had so much fun playing together at the park getting dirty” or “I’m blessed to go grocery shopping because I can afford healthy food for my family”. Just those quick changes to my mindset really reenergizes me. Like I said, I’d recommend listening to the entire episode because there are a lot of little nuggets of inspiration.
