Welcome to another Five on Friday where I share cool things I find online, products that I recommend, and just general happenings. For today’s edition I’m sharing my five favorite food items at Costco. I just did a Costco run with my sister this week so I thought I’d share some of my go-to items.
Mini Guacamole Cups
I recently discovered these mini cups of guacamole at Costco and I can’t get enough! It is so convenient to have guacamole split up into small containers. I can just grab one to dip veggies in, add it to a salad, or top a burger or chicken breast.
Avocado Oil Mayo
When I was doing Whole30 I made my own mayo, which felt like quite an accomplishment but it wasn’t exactly convenient. I’m not currently doing a Whole30, but the experience opened my eyes to finding healthier versions of the food I was eating. Even though this Avocado Oil Mayo isn’t Whole30 compliant, it is still has WAY cleaner ingredients than regular brands of mayo. And I was pleasantly surprised with the taste, it is creamy and sweeter than regular mayo.
I have also used this Avocado Oil Mayo to make my own ranch dressing. I just whisk together:
- 1/2 cup Avocado Oil Mayo
- 1/2 cup full fat coconut milk
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon dried chives
- Salt & Pepper to taste
Organic Spring Mix
Anytime I’m at Costco I always buy a 1 lb. tub of Organic Spring Mix. If you have this tub in your fridge you have no excuse not to eat salads; it is pre-washed and ready to enjoy. If I have romaine hearts in my fridge that need to be chopped up, I’m about 90% less likely to make a salad. But with this spring mix I can just grab a few handfuls for my salads. Too easy!
Gourmet Jalapeno/Garlic Stuffed Greek Olives
I spied this jar of greek olives at Costco one time when I was shopping on an empty stomach. It’s not a smart idea to grocery shop while hungry, way too many impulse purchases. However, from my impulsive greek olive purchase I fell in love with these
little big suckers. Whenever I have a salt craving I just pop one of these in my mouth. There has been several times it has saved me from grabbing chips or other unhealthy salty snacks.
Frozen Black Bean Burgers
I am a black bean burger nut! I’m not a vegetarian but I will more often than not order a black bean burger at a restaurant over a beef patty. But I’ve never found a brand of frozen black bean burgers that I’m a huge fan of, until I snagged a sample of these at Costco. Just from that one bite I knew I had to swing my oversized cart right around and grab a box. These are by far the best frozen black bean burgers I’ve had, and I think it is the Chipotle Blend flavor that makes them so good. For a quick lunch I will I heat up a black bean burger and then crumble it up, put it over lettuce and make a taco salad. Yummy!
I hope you enjoyed getting a peek at my go-to Costco items! Do you have any favorites of your own?
