Hello 2017! I hope you had wonderful holiday season and enjoyed time with loved ones and indulged in a few of your favorite treats. But if you are like me (and millions of other Americans), now that the holidays are over I made the resolution to really ramp up my fitness and healthy eating goals. We’ve had a few weeks of nasty weather here in Minnesota and the roads and walkways have an inch of ice covered by drifts of snow. But before the new year I wanted to squeeze in my final outdoor run of 2016. It was an early morning run before the sun came up with a neighborhood friend and neither of us had a headlamp on for light, but she runs with two dogs so between the dogs and moonlight we were making our way on the pathway just fine. Apparently we were too deep in conversation and the dogs didn’t feel the need to warn us, because we didn’t spot the giant snowdrift on the path. I literally ran right into it and when my feet got caught up I took a nose dive straight into the snow. Thankfully it was a soft landing! I would have loved to see a replay of that moment, I’m sure I looked incredibly coordinated. But at least I can say that I ended the year with a bang (or thud)! I know I’ll be migrating to more treadmill runs in January, because a face full of snow at 5 am isn’t always how I want to start my day, although it sure does jolt you awake!
This free workout tracker printable is a great way to keep tabs on how often you squeeze in a workout this month, it also is handy for counting the number of fitness center visits for health insurance incentives. I hope it helps you stay on track with your fitness goals and New Year’s resolutions.
