Often times during the holiday season I find myself reaching for a glass of wine as the Christmas music is playing and tree is twinkling. However I can quickly grow tired of wine and always am searching for a different type of cocktail to try. I came across this recipe for a Cinnamon Roll Cocktail and instantly knew I had to give it a try. And the fact that it only requires two ingredients made me even more eager. The original recipe I found used a martini shaker, but I decided this was a great time to pull out my Margaritaville Blender. Have you ever heard of or seen the Margaritaville Blender? This little piece of machinery has revolutionized frozen concoctions in our house. If you are a fan of perfectly blended frozen drinks I would highly recommend this blender. And it doesn’t need to just be cocktails, it works well for slushy kid drinks, smoothies, and fruity non-alcoholic drinks. But now that I have your dreaming of frozen bliss, I need to comment on the size of the blender. It’s large. It probably isn’t something you would want sitting on your counter all the time (it actually might not even fit under the upper cabinets). So you would need somewhere to store it. We keep ours in a cupboard of our basement wet bar and it is easy to take in and out. It is a lot of fun to entertain when you can easily whip up a batch of frozen drinks.
The two ingredients you need for this drink is RumChata and Kahlua. Place 3 parts Rumchata and 1 part Kahlua in the blender and add ice.
With the Margaritaville blender you have the option to just hit the start button and let it do it’s thing with a set amount of ice. Or you can lift the switch up to shave ice and down to blend the drink and ice together. I used the manual setting for this drink so that I could control how much ice to add.
Once you blend the drink you are ready to enjoy. I rimmed wine glasses with a mix of white sugar and green sprinkles to give it a festive look. This would be a perfect drink to serve at your next holiday party.
You can even dust a little bit of cinnamon to the top for a special touch. I am telling you, this drink is delicious! It almost tastes like a cinnamon vanilla milk shake. Yum!
