Whether it’s because you are on a budget or can’t find a babysitter, sometimes a night out on the town just isn’t doable. But don’t forget that just because you aren’t out at a fancy restaurant or buying a movie ticket that you can’t still have fun with your significant other. I saw the idea for a date night jar over at I Am Lady Fab. I took the idea and made my own list of stay-at-home date night ideas. This is the perfect gift for an anniversary or Valentine’s Day.
What you need:
- Mason Jar
- Ribbon
- Twine
- Hot Glue
- Cardstock Paper
- Colored Popsicle Sticks (found at most craft stores)
- Black Sharpie
For my jar I used a thick, red burlap ribbon. I placed a thin strip of hot glue on the red ribbon and placed that end directly of the jar (this will keep the ribbon from sliding up and down on the jar).
Next I wrapped the red ribbon around the jar to figure out where I need to cut the ribbon. I placed another strip of hot glue on the other end of the ribbon, and glued it down on the jar.
Where the red ribbon “seam” is on the back of the jar I placed a small dot of hot glue. I then took one end of my twine and stuck it on the glue. I wrapped the twine four times tightly around the jar. I placed another dot of hot glue to hold down the other end of the twine.
Next I printed the words “Date Night” on heavy cardstock paper, and then cut the paper into a heart. You could easily cut a heart out and just handwrite “Date Night” and skip the printing.
Next is the fun part, thinking of the date ideas! Here is my complete list of dates to help get you started on ideas!

Some of my date night ideas are things my husband loves to do, but I don’t really enjoy (ex. playing cards). But that is the fun of pulling out the popsicle sticks, it gives you a chance to do things you don’t normally do together; and don’t be surprised if you start to enjoy certain activities more than you realize. I challenge you to try do a “Date Night” activity once a week!
