I’m starting a new series called Five on Friday that will include cool things I find online, products that I recommend, and just general happenings. I hope you enjoy! TGIF!

ONE
Favorite House Project
I love this kitchen island makeover on The Soulful House. We are making plans to extend our kitchen island to add stool seating and get rid of our table, so I’m scouring the internet for pictures and ideas. I love this photo because it reminds me of my kitchen with white cabinets and black counters.
TWO
Favorite Funny
I got a kick out of this meme. With a 3 and 1 year old I know about “activities gone wrong” all too well. If anything with the kids doesn’t end with crying, screaming, or a little brotherly shove I consider it a huge success!
THREE
Favorite Date
This week I took my sweet little boy on a Mommy & Tate Date. We went out for pizza, met his best friend at a park, and then saw Pixar’s Cars 3. I think it was the first time I took just my oldest son to a restaurant alone and it was a reminder that I need to do it more often. He was loving the undivided attention and it was so fun being able to sit and actually listen to all of his stories. As for the movie, he really liked it, especially that “cool school bus”. And he did really well in the theater for only being a three year old; a small pack of gummy bears helped to avert a crisis after he spilled his Mike & Ike’s all over the floor.
FOUR
Favorite Workout
Check out this arm workout from Chrissa at Physical Kitchness. My arms often get neglected because I’m more focused on running or lunges. I love that this seems like a quick arm workout that I’m sure gets them burnin’! I bet I could even hammer this workout out during a couple commercial breaks of a TV show. Side note: I also recommend following Chrissa on Instagram; she has two little boys and her Instagram stories always keep me entertained and her workouts and healthy eating keep me motivated.

Favorite Hair Product
This week I cut SEVEN inches off my hair! So now it is shoulder length and I actually have to spend some time styling it. And I’m not saying that is a bad thing, my hair was long and damaged and I had lost the drive to ever style it. Now my hair feels so light, healthy, and it actually is fun to try a few different styles. My $4 Treseme bottle just wasn’t cutting it with the new cut, so I went back to the trusty Kenra Volume Spray 25. This hairspray is so great, it holds well yet isn’t stiff or sticky. At first I chuckled at the description on Amazon that says it is wind resistant up to 25 mph. But last weekend we were at a county fair with 20 mile an hour winds and the whole time I was thinking how awful my hair must look, but when we got back to our car it didn’t look half bad (besides the sugar granules stuck in it from the mini donuts), so the 25 mph wind claim might be legit!
