It is December and we have officially entered the toughest time of year to stay healthy (at least it is for me). Between treats at the office and baked goodies at home, it feels like there is always temptation. Even though it is difficult I’m trying hard to stick to my workouts so that I don’t let a month slip by and end up panic mode on January 1st. And I don’t know about you, but to me Christmas cookies taste even better when I know I earned it from a hard workout. This free printable tracker is a great way to keep tabs on how often you’ve worked out this month, it also is handy for counting the number of fitness center visits for health insurance incentives.
And while we are talking fitness…
Here are 5 healthy tips to try this month…
- Enter a local 5K race, there are usually holiday themed races this time of year where you can dress up.
- Do something active outside that might not “technically” a workout: build a snowman, build a snow fort, go ice skating, or snowshoeing.
- Baking cookies are a fun part of the holiday season, but give them as a cute gift to friends and neighbors rather then being tempted to eat too many.
- Set aside $1 for every day you make it to the gym, at the end of the month take the money and use it towards purchasing workout gear. Thirty dollars could get you a cute, new workout top!
- A lot of fitness centers put out new winter group fitness schedules this time of year…try a new class!
